On March 26, 2017, Ruka debuted as a member from the Blue Class of the Japanese idol group Shibu3 project as one of the founding members. She left the group sometime in 2018.
Debut with BABYMONSTER
On December 30, 2022, YG Entertainment unveiled a teaser poster announcing their plans to debut a new girl group. On January 1, 2023, the group's name was confirmed to be BABYMONSTER. In the same video, Ruka could be seen practicing, seemingly confirming her status as a member of the group.
On February 6, Ruka was introduced through a live performance as the seventh and final member of BABYMONSTER. They made their debut on April 1, 2024 with the mini album BABYMONS7ER.
