On December 8, 2016, she was revealed as the third member of LOONA. Her solo single album, titled "HaSeul", was released on December 15.

She debuted as a member of the group's first sub-unit, LOONA 1/3, on March 7, 2017 with the mini album Love & Live.

In October, HaSeul, alongside fellow members HeeJin and HyunJin, auditioned for the survival show MIXNINE. However, HaSeul did not pass the audition.

On August 20, 2018, LOONA debuted as a full twelve-member group with their first mini album + +.

In an article published by JTBC on November 28, it was revealed that Haseul and all LOONA members except Hyunjin and Vivi have reportedly filed a lawsuit to suspend their contracts with BlockBerryCreative due to their trust in the company being damaged. BlockBerryCreative denies all claims. On January 13, 2023, it was revealed that HaSeul, along with Yves, Go Won, Olivia Hye and YeoJin lost the trial against BlockBerryCreative for terminating their exclusive contracts.

On June 16, 2023, The Seoul High Court's 5th Civil Cases Division ruled in favor of her, along with Yves, Go Won, Olivia Hye and YeoJin, to suspend their exclusive contracts with BlockBerryCreative.

On June 20, 2023, HaSeul officially singed with MODHAUS and joined their strategy project, ARTMS, which consists of LOONA members.
