K.A.R.D (카드) (also stylized as KARD) is a Korean a co-ed group consisting of 4 members: J.Seph, BM, Somin and Jiwoo. They are under DSP Media. Before their official debut they released three project singles Oh NaNa, Don’t Recall and Rumor. They officially debuted on July 19, 2017 with the EP Hola Hola.

Each letter of the name KARD (K.A.R.D) represents a playing card. ‘K’ is for the King that represents BM. ‘A’ is for the Ace card that represents J.Seph. ‘R’ is for both the black and colored jokeR, which represent Somin and Jiwoo. ‘D’ is for a hiDden card and can mean a lot of different things.

The official fandom name of KARD is Hidden Kard. Its meaning is that similar to how the group’s name wouldn’t be complete without the D (hidden card), KARD wouldn’t be complete without their fans.

Fun Facts and Trivia

KARD does not have an official leader.

The oldest member of K.A.R.D is Kim Tae Hyung (born Jun 21, 1992).

The youngest member (maknae) of K.A.R.D is Jeon Ji Woo (born Oct 4, 1996).

The tallest member of KARD is Kim Matthew, better known as BM, with a height of 186 cm (6'1'').

The shortest member of KARD is Jeon Somin with a height of 163 cm (5'4'').

The name "KARD" originally stood for king (BM), ace (J.seph), joker, and hidden card. A color joker and a black joker represented Somin and Jiwoo, respectively.

In their pre-debut projects, they used to release a special version for each song, called "Hidden". In "Oh NaNa" the hidden card was the singer and former KARA member, Youngji, who made an appearance in the music video. In "Don't Recall", the fans received a version of the song completely sung in English. And for "Rumor", a performance video was released featuring Z.Sun, the group's choreographer.

Somin is a former member of APRIL and PURETTY.

J.Seph and BM were originally supposed to debut as a hip-hop duo but the plan had changed and two female members were included to make KARD.
