2016: Finding Momoland and debut with MOMOLAND

In 2016, she became a contestant on Mnet's reality survival show Finding Momoland. She finished the competition in fifth place, thus becoming a member of the girl group MOMOLAND. The group officially debuted on November 10, 2016 with their first mini album Welcome to Momoland.

2017–2018: Viral success

In 2017, she became viral on the internet due to her enthusiast dance to the group's song "Wonderful Love (EDM Ver.)", which led her to be invinted to star in Tropicana Sparkling's commercial. After her appearance on the commercial, she became known as "Tropicana girl".

In 2018, JooE's landed another colorful commercial deal with the mobile game Friends Marble, where she sings along to a cute synth-pop song while showing off her now signature dance moves.[4] She also became the new face of the makeup brand Baker 7.

2023: Departure from MLD Entertainment

On January 27, 2023, MLD Entertainment announced that MOMOLAND would be leaving the agency after deciding not to renew their contracts.

In February 2018, she graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School, where she was a student in the Practical Music Department.

Cosmetic surgery

She confirmed that she had done rhinoplasty in high school prior to joining Duble Kick Entertainment, and then a month after Finding Momoland began.

According to JooE, one of the most difficult things about going on a diet is resisting the temptation of food to avoid having a yo-yo effect on her weight.

When she's on a diet, JooE's entire food intake consists of 400 grams of chicken breast or 200 grams of beef, two cucumbers, and an apple or two that she splits during the day.

With that diet, this means that JooE has a calorie intake of less than 1000 a day, which is not exactly ideal if you're accompanying the diet with heavy workouts.
