On January 20, 2019, it was announced that she would be joining JYP’s new girl group. She debuted as the leader/member of ITZY on February 12 of the same year after two years of overall training.
Yeji became a JYP Entertainment trainee in 2016.
Back in 2017, she appeared on Stray Kids‘ “Survival Show”.
In 2018, Yeji was a contestant of SBS’ reality competition television series “The Fan” but was eliminated in the fifth episode. During her time on the show she was called “JYP’s Secret Weapon” by 2PM‘s Junho.

She ranked 86th on TC Candler’s 100 Most Beautiful Faces 2019.
Many fans support that she strongly resembles Stray Kids‘ Hyunjin and (G)-Idle‘s Yuqi.
