Who is Yeonje?
Yang Yeon-je is a South Korean singer, dancer, and musical actress under IOK Company, professionally known by the stage name Yeonje. Born as Yang Hye-sun on October 15, 1999, in Gwangju, South Korea, she performs as one of the alice members and gained recognition through her work with the girl group ALICE, formerly known as ELRIS.
Yeonje debuted with ELRIS on June 1, 2017, under the stage name Hyeseong with the release of their first mini album We, First. Her stage name at the time, Hyeseong, translates to "comet" in Korean. The timing of the name change aligned with South Korea's recent legislation protecting artists' stage name rights. Under this law, artists retain legal rights to their stage names once a contract with a company ends, transferring ownership from the company to the artist when the agreement expires. Yeonje was not the only member to adopt a new stage name during this transition. Fellow member Bella simultaneously changed her stage name to Do-A, making two members who underwent name modifications as part of the rebranding process. The promotional materials released on April 11, 2022, displayed the name Yeonjae instead of Hyeseong, initially leading to speculation about the change before the official confirmation.

In June 2018, Yeonje was cast as Lee Eunhee in the musical "Hello Jadoo". She learned ballet specifically for this role.
