J-Trinity (Momo, Sana and Mina) is the friendship between the Japanese trio. The J in J-Trinity is the short form for Japanese, therefore J-Trinity means the Japanese trinity.

Before debuting as Twice, Sana was supposed to debut in a 6 members group 6mix with Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Minyoung (SIXTEEN) replacing Cecillia who left the group. However, the plan was cancelled due to Lena's departure.

Mina and Momo were part of the Japan team of JYP trainees.

They are each from different cities in Japan: Sana from Osaka, Momo from Kyoto and Mina from Kobe. These are major cities of the Kansai Region.

According to Mina's mother, Mina only learnt to speak Japanese in a Kansai dialect after meeting Momo and Sana in Korea, especially with Sana having the most pronounced Kansai accent.

When they were trainees, they wished that all 3 of them can debut in the same group, and that wish has fulfilled by debuting with Twice.

They wrote the lyrics to Shot Thru The Heart from Summer Nights together.
