SOLAR (MAMAMOO) | Leader, Main vocalist

Kim Yong Sun (김용선; born Feb 21, 1991), better known by her stage name Solar (솔라), is the leader of the girl group MAMAMOO and a member of its sub-unit MAMAMOO+. She made her debut with Mamamoo in June 2014.

She made her official solo debut on April 23, 2020 with the single album "Spit It Out".

Fun Facts and Trivia

Solar was 23 years old when she made her debut with Mamamoo in 2014.

She was born in Gangseo gu, Seoul, South Korea.

Her MBTI is INFJ.

She is the mom of the group (Mamamoo).

She participated in the show We Got Married with Eric Nam.

She is good friends with Irene (Red Velvet) and Chorong (Apink).

She had chosen the stage name "Doremi" (도레미) to use, but both MAMAMOO members and the CEO did not like it and prompted her to change it to "Solar".

In 2019, she was chosen as an ambassador of the M2 X Genie Music Awards alongside Apink's Bomi.

She is the only member of MAMAMOO who was born in Seoul (since Moonbyul was born in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, while Wheein and Hwasa were born in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do).

Her favorite food is Tteokbokki. She likes to eat Tteokbokki so much that she eats it in an entire week.

If she could switch lives with a fellow K-pop idol, she would want to switch lives with BTS' J-Hope.

She has traveled to the Philippines several times: among the places she visited there, she visited Cebu (the sixth largest city in the Philippines, which is the capital of the Province of Cebu and is located in the Central Visayas region) and Boracay (a tourist island located in the Western Visayas region).

She is a huge fan of BoA.
