Duty After School

"Duty After School" is a webtoon-based drama of the same name by Ha IlKwon. It tells the story of senior high school students of Seongjin High, who were forced to do military trainings to fight against mysterious creatures that invaded Seoul.

The series stars Shin HyunSoo of "Age of Youth", Lee SoonWon of "Island", Lim SeMi of "My Secret Terrius", Moon SangMin from "Under the Queen’s Umbrella", Choi MoonHee, Kwon EunBin, Yeo JooHa, Lee Yeon, Kim KiHae are among the stars in this drama.

Since the setting of the drama is within the school and the characters are mostly students, it does give you an “All of Us Are Dead” vibe. The monstrous creatures that kill people somewhat remind us of the Demobats and that terrifying look of Demogorgon in "Stranger Things".

Unlike in "Stranger Things" where the main villains are monsters from the "Upside Down", the bad creatures in "Duty After School" are more like extraterrestrial creatures that are less scary that those Demodogs.

Like all K-Dramas, there’s always one guy that will make us feel "kilig" (or fuzzy, in English) despite his role. Lieutenant and Platoon Commander Lee ChunHo is not an exemption on this. Initially firm with the students, but Lt. Lee warms up to them and cares about them more than anyone else.

Without a doubt, "Duty After School" is set to be one of the biggest productions of the year and has the potential to be a viral hit like "All Of Us Are Dead" and "Squid Game". With tropes like the academy of adventure and themes of blame, guilt, and retribution dominating the story, the recipe for success is all there. We just have to wait and see if it delivers, and as far as we can tell, it sure will.
