Soyou (also stylized as Soyu) is a South Korean singer under BPM Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl group SISTAR.
She made her solo debut on December 13, 2017 with Part 1 of her first album Re:Born.

Pre-debut
Before debuting as a member of SISTAR, Soyou was a known Cube Entertainment trainee. She was supposed to debut with 4minute, however, did not make the final cut because she "was lacking in many ways". Eventually, Sohyun was added to the group in her place.

After being cut from 4minute's final lineup, Soyou left Cube Entertainment, then auditioning and being accepted to Starship Entertainment.

2010: Debut with SISTAR
She debuted as a member of SISTAR on June 4, 2010 with the group's first album "Push Push".

2017: SISTAR's disbandment, solo debut
On May 22, 2017, Starship Entertainment announced that SISTAR would disbanding after seven years. The group's final single, "Lonely" was released on May 31. SISTAR's final group performance took place on June 7 through Show Champion.

Soyou made her solo debut on December 13 with Part 1 of her first studio album Re:Born.

2021: Departure from Starship Entertainment, new agency
On September 8, 2021, Starship Entertainment announced that Soyou's contract was terminated as she decided to not renew it with the agency.

On September 29, 2021, it was announced that Soyou has signed an exclusive contract with BPM Entertainment.

2022: Day & Night
On April 20, 2022, teaser photos were released which revealed that Soyou will be releasing her first mini album Day & Night on April 27.
