Kim Tae-yeon (Korean: 김태연), known as Taeyeon, had been a trainee at SM Entertainment's Starlight Academy during her middle school years before debuting as a member of the agency's girl group Girls' Generation in 2007. Since then, she has risen to prominence as SNSD has become one of the most acclaimed acts in South Korea. She has also participated in other SM Entertainment projects, including Girls' Generation-TTS, SM the Ballad, Girls' Generation-Oh! GG, and Got the Beat.

Taeyeon began working on her solo projects in late 2014, believing her "right time" had come after eight years of experience with Girls' Generation. She released her debut mini-album "I" in October 2015. In 2022 her hit song "INVU" recorded her first-ever perfect all-kill.
