Rosé/Park Chae Young (박채영) was born on February 11, 1997 in Auckland, New Zealand, but she grew up in Melbourne, Australia. When she was sixteen years old, she participated in YG Entertainment's Australia Audition and passed. Because of this, she moved back to South Korea and started her journey as an official trainee of the agency.
